Hi, I'm Lindsey!
Mother & Creator of Nurtured Roots
I’m a Full Spectrum Doula living in the heart of Georgia with my husband, two kids, our chiweenie, and three cats. I've always been an avid birth lover and Mom Friend so deciding to become a Doula has felt so incredibly right for me. I spent the majority of 2023 as a Newborn Hearing Screener, which submerged me into the birth & postpartum world and solidified my passion to become a Birth Worker. I'm currently on my Doula Certification journey with Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings (BADT). I'm extremely proud to have found a community with the goals of making birthing spaces more inclusive and socially conscious.

My journey into motherhood ignited my desire to support others through one of life’s most transformative experiences. I was disappointed by the lack of personalized care in the birthing world, so I'm here to be the change I wish to see.
Have you ever heard of a "Rainbow Baby"?
A rainbow baby is a baby born after the loss of a previous pregnancy or infant. The term symbolizes hope and healing, much like a rainbow appears after a storm. It represents the joy and renewal that comes after experiencing deep sorrow, while also honoring the love and loss of the baby who came before.
I hadn’t heard of that term until after I experienced a miscarriage in my second trimester. Receiving the news was absolutely heart-breaking. My doctor didn't explain that by being so far along, I would have an actual labor and a birth, and instead sent me home with minimal care instructions. In the years that followed I suffered from severe postpartum depression and anxiety, and never thought it had anything to due with my miscarriage because I didn't have a full term pregnancy. I began to educate myself more on the topic and found myself feeling extremely passionate about bringing awareness to how common miscarriages are.
I share this story to raise awareness and to help normalize these conversations. I know I’m not alone in this experience, and I don't want others to suffer in silence about something that is so common. We deserve to feel confident and educated about our reproductive health, pregnancy, fertility, different types of births, and postpartum care. I believe that my experience has played a huge role in fueling my true passion, to be an educator and advocate for birthing people.
XOXO, Lindsey
